The Global Projects Group (GPG) delivers strategic, global business process and technology-based solutions for Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Securities Operations.
This role is a Business Analyst in the Libra Business team in London, reporting to the European Libra Business lead.
The role is multi-faceted, offering the opportunity to take ownership for, and contribute to, the success of a project through its entire life-cycle as well as playing a pivotal roll in the other ongoing business integrations.
The role can be broken down into 2 main activities:
1. Guidance to integration teams on accounting rules
2. Delivery of projects to integrate Libra with other renovation programs
The candidate is expected to work closely with members of the Libra Business Unit, IT, Testing and Operational teams as well as other key stakeholders in our partner teams. The role also requires the candidate to understand, investigate and communicate impact of renovated accounting to downstream users and system owners.
The need to switch between strategy and detailed work will make this role complex, challenging and rewarding.
Accounting
- Review current legacy account logic
- Review accounting requirements for new sub ledger integrations
Project Management
- Work with the stakeholders to prioritize work and drive milestones
- Develop a thorough business case with measurable benefits and costs (and related ROI)
- Manage work plan development, requirements collection, client and IT expectations, issues, risks and scope changes throughout all phases of the project
- Manage and track all project expenses to budget
- Track and communicate project status to team and management
- Collaborate with IT on test plan development, design test cases and manage UAT process
- Develop a strategic view for the program
Relationship Management
- Interface with stakeholders, sponsors and other Senior Management to confirm program/project sponsorship/support, strategic alignment, and report progress, achievements, significant issues and risks
-Develop an effective network of stakeholders to allow Libra to integrate more quickly with new areas of the bank
Business Process Definition, Analysis & Solution Design
-Interface with Clients to define current state process and business requirements documentation
-Review and validate business rules and requirements and obtain all required sign-offs
-Design future state process flows, incorporating requirements and obtain client validation
-Work with IT to translate business requirements into future state system specs
- Act as liaison/agent between IT and client for requirements and assumptions clarification or validation, compromise or agreement mediation, and to close information gaps
- Perform analysis and writing requirements
- Communicate business requirements to Finance, Operations and IT colleagues
- Test new functionality
