Key responsibilities:
- Working with the European Shared Services Finance team, ensure the development, building and maintenance of robust systems, processes and control for the product line
- Developing/enhancing meaningful metrics to identify and communicate to the business and SLT strong, poor and indifferent performing areas of business and to make recommendations on profitability improvement
- Managing the timely and accurate production of all financial reporting to meet regulatory and management information needs for the profitable development of the business
- Ensuring seamless interaction with Risk on loss forecasting and hedging strategies
- Ensuring that the overall system of financial controls as pertains to Retirement and Protection are in compliance with Genworth’s accounting and governance policies• Coordinating the oversight of all R&P capital initiatives including assessment of product and legal entity implications
- Actively participating in acquisition due diligence, deal review and analysis of implications
- Provide recommendations for optimal funding of acquisitions
- Ensuring the efficient use of cashflow to maximise investment return in line with Investment guidelines and to provide Finance Management in respect of the Investment Management process as regards
- Retirement and Protection invested assets
- Supporting/participating in rating agencies/regulatory activity – deal approvals, strategic & annual discussions
- Providing strategic analysis, insights and recommendations for reinsurance opportunities for both strategic and operational reinsurance. Engaging with Reinsurance administration and accounting teams to develop and evaluate opportunities
- Responsible for the day to day management of the Finance team and their development
Essential skills & experience:
- Qualified Accountant with substantial insurance experience within the Retirement and Protection area
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and Statutory insurance accounting
- Commercially oriented with a proven track record of providing pragmatic solutions in the context of imperfect data and commercial deal making
- Ability to work cross-functionally and within a matrix organisation
- Effective time and resource management and team building
- Competent in the use of Microsoft office products especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word

- Experience of working with and Oracle General Ledger and related systems
