The role of the team is to look at deals on a project basis. For every project, regardless of its stage within its business plan, there is a financing component that needs to be addressed and without which the project cannot deliver the returns targeted by this fund. This financing, and any interest rate or foreign exchange exposure, are handled by the asset financing group.
The team works closely with the acquisitions and asset management teams to analyse and structure a project to optimise its gearing and maximise returns while still maintaining an acceptable level of risk for the investors.
Day to day activities include:
• Building and maintaining relationships with lenders throughout Europe• Negotiating terms sheets and loan agreements
• Satisfying conditions of× lenders for drawdowns on each project
• Analysing the interest rate environment and determining the appropriate method of interest rate risk hedging
• Analysing the FX environment and× determining the appropriate method of FX risk management
• Analysing target companies for transactions and determining ways to refinance and finance their acquisition
• Ogoing monitoring of positions of the company to ensure× compliance
• Preparation of presentations both internally and externally attendance at various conferences within Europe throughout the year
Candidate's backgrounds must be grounded in real estate and could have experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, real estate financing or corporate finance and advisory.
