This is a new opportunity for a Managing Director of Marketing to join Black River Asset Management in our stunning Cobham offices based in Surrey, UK. This role will require the individual to travel for 30% of the time.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead Black River marketing efforts in Europe, Middle East and Asia. Set marketing strategy for region. Participate in the development of marketing materials and investor communications.
  • Service client base of existing institutional investors. Deepen existing investor relationships by communicating fund performance, coordinating information requests and developing long-term relationships with investors.
  • Market Black River's funds to targeted institutional investors (pension funds, foundations and endowments, fund of funds) with goal of attracting investors with exceptional dollar stability and high future growth potential. Achieve objectives set by the Black River for increasing assets under management
  • Provide insight into investor objectives. Conduct reverse inquiry to determine competitive opportunities based on the specific needs of targeted investors.
  • Attend conferences to maintain Black River's visibility within hedge fund and institutional investor communities.
  • Develop quantitative benchmarks to measure Black River's fund performance against competing hedge funds in the EMEA and Asia regions.
  • Skills

    Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Prior experience managing relations, preferably with investors.
  • Broad knowledge of financial products and markets, to include strategies within the emerging markets, credit, rates, commodity and equities platforms.
  • Previous marketing experience in a Hedge Fund/ Alternative Investments, Institutional Investors, marketing of investment products to Institutional Investors.
  • Previous experience developing and upgrading marketing materials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to work independently, as well as well within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of European, Middle East and/or Asian financial markets.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Preferred:

  • MBA
  • Ideally you will be fluent in at least one of the following languages: French, Spanish, German and Japanese.
