Our client is a rapidly growing hedge fund firm.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure and applications
  • Initiate corrective action to resolve system and infrastructure hardware and software problems
  • Document production problems; identify recurring problems and recommend preventative measures.
  • Interact with developers and peers to maintain a responsive and available infrastructure for the applications.

      REQUIREMENTS
    • technical degree/diploma with years related experience
    • 2-4 years of experience in a structured operations 24/7 data center environment or Network Operations Centre (NOC) environment combined with experience in financial services and/or trading industry
    • proven experience in system and network administration, and/or technical support. Skills:
      • Intel based Dell/HP server/blade technologies
      • Operating systems administration: Windows 2003, Linux, Windows XP, Unix
      • Network and Security Management experience with Cisco routers, switches and PIX firewalls
      • Reuters and/or GL market data and trading solutions
      • Information Technology infrastructure performance analysis skills
      • MS Exchange, MS SQL Server and/or Sybase database administration
      • Commvault data protection system
      • Exposure to Vhayu Velocity market data solution

        • Works well under pressure and time constraints and can prioritize competing priorities appropriately.
        • Willingness to work overtime as required.
        • Ability to coordinate efforts across division boundaries where necessary to resolve problems
        • Strong attention to detail and quick follow up for production problems
