Our client is a global finance institution, with a solid presence in the Asia Pacific region with its regional headquarter here in Hong Kong. They are now looking for strong AS400 - IT professionals to ensure the success of their several ongoing regional projects.

In this role, you will: conduct walkthrough with users to support Business Requirements Specification preparation and understand detail user requirements. Analyse the supporting systems to perform study so as to recommend different system approaches to fulfil users’ needs as specified business requirement specifications. Supervise and lead the team through the different stages of the development life cycle, hence to produce deliverables for system development, documentation, and implementation, aligning to the development standard. Assist the managers to perform the resource planning and allocation to development tasks. Coordinate with other IT parties for system development activities. Liaison for users for business related activities within project development cycle. Assist in conducting performance management activities for subordinates and outsourcing vendors and monitoring progress to ensure the project is on track in terms of quality, delivery milestone & cost.

The right candidate will have:

• A University degree in IT, Computer science or any related degree
• A strong technical background in AS400 – RPG ILE programming/ design/ analysis/ leadership/ management
• You MUST have worked in the Banking, Finance or Insurance industry in order to qualify for this role.
• Experience in Cobol is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluent oral and written English is a Must. Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is definitely a plus
