Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations Control Management you will be a
member of the team overseeing the internal governance and controls for Boston Fund Services.
This is a position responsible for identifying, assessing and minimizing the potential adverse impacts of operational risk on the company and its customers.
This position provides a significant amount of exposure and visibility to senior management and interacts directly with professionals providing client services.
Role & Responsibilities
1)
Support development of Quality Assurance Testing ProgramDevelop inventory of reviewable entities, facilitate execution of test programs Develop an inventory of key controls across the Fund Services Operations.
Requires ability to analyze risks, conduct interviews, perform walkthroughs, and prepare process flow analysis Focus on building program that measures compliance with defined operating procedure Support Chief Compliance Officer function through performance of various procedural / control compliance reviews2)
Support execution of the Quality Assurance Testing Program, including:Development of test programs to assess key controls and ensure operations staff is in compliance with company and operating procedures. Summarize observations in a concise manner Document sound conclusions and recommend corrective actions. Assist in presenting findings and recommendations regarding the development of new key control procedures to Management. Provide assistance, where needed, to ensure recommended changes are implemented.3)
Presentations - requires the ability to format and present material in a clear, concise electronic format for delivery to external and internal audiences4)
Support in preparing presentations for Management.
Requires the ability to format and present material in a clear, concise electronic format for delivery to external and internal audiences.5)
Support in preparing user guides and manuals for the various teams.
Requires understanding of technical writing standards and the ability to organize content in understandable units and standard formats.
Qualifications
Education & QualificationsBS/BA equivalent in accounting or finance 5-8 years of internal audit, public accounting, or risk management, preferably in investment management industry Understand the concepts of internal controls, risk-based audits, and COSO Framework Familiar with accounting principles, financial reporting, and investment industry-related regulations Excellent analytical and communication skills Inquisitive and quick to learn CPA, CIA, MBA desired
