Description

The candidate will contribute to all aspects of the Operational Due Diligence process. The Director’s responsibilities will include (but are not restricted to) the following:

  • Coordinate, prepare for, and conduct on site interviews with hedge fund managers CFOs, COOs, and other operational management and personnel
  • Perform on-site due diligence reviews on hedge fund operational support structure, internal controls, trade processing environments, process flows, and personnel
  • Review hedge funds’ legal documentation
  • Evaluate accounting and reporting processes and controls including cash management, pricing and valuation practices, and NAV analyses
  • Contribute to the evaluation of risk measurement, monitoring, and reporting environments
  • Prepare operational due diligence reports for communication to management
  • Develop market intelligence and industry best practice by liaising with fund administrators, prime brokers, external auditors, and attorneys
  • Review third party vendor relationships, agreement terms and perform on-site reviews of certain providers
  • Review compliance procedures of hedge funds
  • Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have a background in public accounting, preferably 4-5 years with a Big Four audit firm, or specialized firm serving hedge fund managers. He/she must also posses a minimum of 3-5 years experience with a hedge fund or fund of funds in an operational due diligence or back office/operational related role. CPA required, MBA, CFA and/or CAIA desirable. Other requirements include:

  • US auditing experience
  • Capacity to keep the strategic vision of a company in sight while paying attention to the details of day-to-day operations
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated track record of sound and accurate judgment
  • Self-directed with a hands-on, “roll up the sleeves”, approach
  • Collaborative contributor who thrives in a team environment

  • This position will be based in New York
