Our client is a UK based private equity fund that focuses on making investments in Sub Saharan Africa including South Africa. It is seeking an associate to join the experienced team. The associate will be involved in a wide range of investments including start-ups, buy-outs and growth capital. As this is a small team you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the transaction process and in monitoring the portfolio. There will also be the opportunity to travel to the continent. Candidates must be able to demonstrate familiarity with private equity type transactions, and ideally have investment experience gained through investment banking, leveraged finance or strategy consulting.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

• Relevant financial or strategic due diligence experience focused on private equity
• Initiated, led and worked on all phases of a private equity transaction
• Exception financial modelling skills
• Compensation would be in line with market expectations
