Founded in 1998, Quantlab is responsible for a significant share of the daily volume traded in the global financial markets and represents an established presence in the high frequency electronic trading field.

To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Network Engineer.

Essential responsibilities of this position include:

• Maintain LAN/WAN network, connectivity between all datacenters and to all financial extranets; monitor network and network equipment for problems, and contact vendors to establish connectivity; make changes to connectivity, and report problems.

• Set up and configure routers, switches, and firewalls on the network; monitor status of all network equipment; work with vendors to establish and confirm connectivity.

• Monitor the latency, bandwidth utilization, and general condition of the WAN; report to the IT and Support team problems encountered; contact vendors to resolve issues.

• Manage build out of datacenters to ensure adequate space and power to run required servers. Work with contractors to establish equipment requirements for new connectivity options, and work with vendors to procure equipment.

• Set up VPN connectivity to the Houston office and other datacenters using Cisco VPN client, SSLVPN, and IPSEC VPN.

• Maintain phone system; monitor facilities systems, such as UPS setup, generator maintenance, AC status for the office space and server room, access and control monitoring of the security system.

Quantlab is located in Houston, Texas – a city recently recognized by Business Week (June 12, 2008) and Kiplinger.com (May 29, 2008) as a best city to “live, work and play”.

Quantlab offers a top-notch compensation package -- including an aggressive pay-for-performance bonus program, generous medical and paid time off benefits, relocation subsidies that may be “cashed-out” and an informal, small-company work environment.  So if you are tired of working at a place where the traders get paid - but the engineers are treated as interchangeable parts - Quantlab wants to talk to you.   It’s easy to apply – simply submit your cover letter and resume
